What You Need to Know About Relocate to Germany

Relocating to Germany doesn’t have to be daunting, especially if you are coming from within the European Union (EU). If you are coming from Asia or other countries, you might need a bit more support. Luckily, there are organizations like us who can help you navigate through your next home country.

Visas & Work Permits

Visa and Permits

In 2018, Germany passed a new immigration law similar to that of countries such as Australia, making it easier for employers to source talent from outside the EU.

That being said, you need an expert such as us—to help you navigate the multitude of visas that you can actually avail of.

For instance, if you are joining a legal wife or a family member already in Germany, the country offers a Family Reunification Visa.

If you are in Germany primarily for business then you need to get a Business Visa.

If you are a student, then you may need two visas- one just to apply and another to attend your university of choice.

Short-stay visas for up to three months cost 60 EUR (70 USD) while long-stay visas cost 75 EUR (80 USD). A residence permit application is required for long-staying expats who have been living in the country for five years.

Once you’ve stayed in Germany with a residency permit for at least 8 years, then you can apply for citizenship.
