International Moving Checklist

Moving requires lots of planning and patience and if clients can prioritize their tasks and remain well-organized, they can overcome a lot of stress of relocation. We can make you move to your new destination smoothly through our moving checklist-

4 weeks before moving

Notify your landlord/real-estate agent of your leaving date and make arrangements for settling your outstanding bills.Make an inventory list of all the items and note down what items are fragile and need special attention. If your packing by yourself start purchasing packing supplies like boxes, tapes, labels etc. or you can rely on specialist like us for all your packing and unpacking requirements.

Pack the items which you will use regularly and try to sell or donate unwanted items.Call gardener or cleaner before your property inspection date and if required book storage facilities. In case of DIY’s moving, you can consider booking a truck or trailer for shifting large items.

3 weeks before moving

Either put all the important paperwork in a box or in a file which you can access easily on a moving day.Notify all the important people and organizations who are required to know about your move such as insurance company, HR department, car company, your healthcare specialist, children school authority, bank, government agencies etc.

2 weeks before moving

In case of children and pet to take care of on moving day, arrange for babysitting and pet minding on a moving day. Make sure your existing home is thoroughly cleaned before your move out and make arrangements for your final meter reading and disconnection of utilities.Settle every outstanding accounts/ bill.

1 weeks before moving

To recoup any bond owing to you, arrange for property inspection and take any rubbish to the local tip. Dispose of any flammable stuff and return borrowed items like DVDs and library books.Cancel or redirect your newspapers, magazines, and other subscriptions. Consume all the perishable food items and clean your fridge and pantry properly.

Gather all important valuables and documents at one place and make sure you carry them efficiently on your move.You can carry valuables like jewelry or crucial office files in a safe box either by yourself or can make an arrangement with reliable packers and movers like us.Extremely precious jewelry and documents with sensitive information are often recommended to be carried by client’s themselves only.

1 weeks before moving

Do not forget to carry your inventory list and make sure that you do not mix all your important medications, valuables, and essential documents with the items for which your removalist are responsible for. Check your premise last time to make sure you haven’t left anything behind.Turn off all gas, water, electricity, and every other switch. Hand over your house or office keys (including spare keys) to new owners/tenants/real estate agents. You can also leave a note for your new occupants specifying your new address so that in case of an emergency they can contact you.
