Major Tourist Attractions – See it to believe it!

Tourism in Singapore is a major industry and a significant contributor to the Singaporean economy. Home to several exotic tourist destinations, Singapore attracted approx. 19.1 million visitors in 2019 with receipts at S$27.1 billion, as per Singapore Tourism Board. In 2018, approx. 18.5 million international tourists visited Singapore, a 6.22% increase from 2017 at 17.4 million. Picture perfect destinations are: See it, to believe it!

Think Singapore, Think Merlion!

This is the first image comes to one’s mind – the iconic mythical creature that has the head of a lion and the body and tail of a fish. The structure, which was relocated to Merlion Park in 2002, where it can overlook Marina Bay, weighs 70 tonnes and stands at 8.6 meters tall, spouting water from its mouth in a fountain. Merlion Park the most popular spot for photo-ops, selfies etc. whether you are taking a selfie in front of the iconic Merlion or capturing the magnificent views from the park, as it looks out over the bay.

Marina Bay Sands

The opulent Marina Bay Sands resort complex includes a high-end luxury hotel, a mall with a canal running through it, the Art Science Museum, and the Marina Bay Sands Skypark Observation Deck – a vantage point for viewing the entire city. The Skypark’s viewing deck and infinity pool are found in the ship (yes, ship) that tops the hotel. Only hotel guests are allowed to use the infinity pool, but anyone can visit the observation deck.

From the Skypark, you can see the innovative double helix bridge, the port, the Gardens by the Bay (101 hectares of land converted into waterfront gardens), and the impressive skyline.

The Flyer

From this Flyer, you can catch the glimpse of Singapore River, Raffles Place, Marina Bay, Empress Place, and the Padang. Each of Singapore Flyer’s 28 city-bus-sized, AC capsules which can carry up to 28 passengers. A complete rotation of the wheel takes approx. 30 minutes.

Sentosa Island

Your trip to Singapore is not complete without visiting Sentosa Island! It offers a complete package of entertainment, for people across age groups and especially families with children. Sentosa is an island resort off Singapore’s southern coast, connected to the city by road, cable car, pedestrian boardwalk and monorail. By Sentosa Station, Tiger Sky Tower has panoramic views that can stretch as far as Indonesia. On the south coast, Palawan Beach is lined with food stalls & bars and a suspension bridge to a small offshore island. Palm-lined, crescent-shaped Tanjong Beach is more tranquil.

This massive complex of themed rides live shows and Hollywood movie-sets which attracts millions every year and is part of the enormous US$4.5 billion Resorts World Sentosa Development. It is a purpose-built island which was built with leisure and relaxation in mind. A collection of beaches, theme parks, golf, shopping, dining and more are highlights of the island.

Universal Studios Singapore</h4
Universal Studios Singapore was the first amusement park of its kind to open in Southeast Asia. The park has more than 20 attractions in themed zones including the Lost World, Ancient Egypt, New York, Hollywood, Madagascar and Far Far Away. There are two water-themed and five thrilling roller coasters. Families with small children can also make the most of the various live shows, kids’ roller coaster and a merry-go-round too. Located on Sentosa, it’s easy to get to Universal Studios by MRT subway.

 

Night Safari – Lilfe in the night!

Singapore’s ‘nightlife’ is ‘life in the night.’ Singapore Night Safari offers an unusual glimpse into the nocturnal animal kingdom, with more than 59 exhibits and 1,000 animals.

It is an amalgamation of entertainment and amazement. But it is also dedicated to conservation, rescue, and research to help improve the lives of animals both in captivity and in the wild. Trams and trails lead you through a nocturnal journey to see wildlife after dark.

Various animals from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas roam in their spacious natural enclosures here. This popular highlight at Singapore Zoo has also helped Singapore earn a well-deserved reputation as one of Asia’s most animal-friendly destinations.

You can view the world via walking trails and trams that connect 8 geographical regions. Exotic and often endangered species such as the Himalayan griffon vulture, wildebeest, gazelle, and the gaur (wild cattle) of Burma could also be seen here.

Jurong Bird Park

It is an aviary and tourist attraction in Jurong. The bird park, managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, covers an area of 0.2 square kilometres (49 acres) on the western slope of Jurong Hill, the highest point in the Jurong region.

It is a world-famous bird zoo where there are specimens of magnificent bird life from around the world, including a large flock of flamingos. It is currently the world’s largest bird park in terms of the number of birds, and second largest both in the number of bird species and land area. There are 5,000 birds of 400 species in Jurong Bird Park, of which 29 are of threatened species.

Treetop walks

The treetop walk at MacRitchie Reservoir is a big project and a pioneer of its genre in Singapore. Standing 25 metres high and at 250 metres long, the wooden walkway bridge allows you to view Singapore differently. No tall buildings – just a fantastic panoramic view of the forest with its many interesting animals. It takes at least 3 hours to fully enjoy the treetop walk for covering around 7 km.

Super-tree Grove at Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay covers 250 acres of reclaimed land on the waterfront. The best spot to get an idea of the sheer size of the Gardens is from the top of Marina Bay Sands, directly opposite the park. Getting here is easy, either via walkways from the hotel, which give you elevated views or by taking the slightly longer riverside promenade to enter the park near the 2 domes.
